Asias largest auctioned diamond
This neck piece entitled Eye of Golconda will become the largest polished diamond to be auctioned off on the Asian continent. Christie’s will auction off the beautiful gem at its Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels sale on May 27.
This diamond pendant piece contains two stones, both graded as internally flawless in clarity with D color by the Gemological Institute of America. The smaller of the two stones weighs 6.76 carats, while the larger one weighs over 40 carats. It is expected to sell around $8.5 – $10 million.
There will be 300 lots that will sell an array of gemstones such as Burmese rubies, Kashmiri sapphires, Colombian emeralds, intense pink, orange pink, deep pink, intense blue, green blue, deep yellow green, violet grey and vivid yellow rare fancy colored diamonds.
