Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre Limited Edition
Since the James Bond “GoldenEye” movie debut in 1995, Omega has been the official watch for one of the world’s most sophisticated gentleman, 007. With the upcoming James Bond movie, “Spectre” that will be released around with a late October, many horology enthusiasts and Omega fans have anticipating the new timepieces. Omega appeased many with its announcement and release of the Omega Aquaterra “Spectre” limited edition, but many will be in for a treat as the company recently announced another limited edition, the Omega Seamaster 300 “Spectre”.
Not only is this a wonderful opportunity to buy a luxury watch, at least you can dress like Bond. Over the years, 007 has been coveted and revered by many fans and companies. From Monopoly, to the cult favorite Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo 64, James Bond is found in many different products across the globe. In the world of horology, however, it is the first time in James Bond history that the actual watch will be worn by 007 in the movie concurrently as a limited edition model. Although the watch will make you as daper as Bond, it won’t have any of the neat 007 gadgets like a built-in laser, keyless car opener, or remote detonator will not be included.
The new timepiece will be limited to 7,007 pieces and will be a twist on the Baselworld 2014 release, the Omega Seamster 300. With its rugged, yet defined look, in conjunction with its dive watch capabilities, the 300 is the perfect compliment to Bond’s overall style. Although the broad arrow hour hand and applied luminescent minute hand will remain the same, the newly added “lollipop’ shaped seconds hand will stand out to make a subtle, yet noticeable difference. Also, the black polished ceramic bezel now rotates bi-directionally, and its LiquidMetal indices run from 0-12, which replaces the traditional, uni-directional diving bezel that is seen in the main collection. The Riquidmetal 12 hour scale can be used to keep time in any country in the world. Other additions to to the watch include a 5-stripe black and grey NATO strap, a 007 gun logo that is engraved not he bracelet’s strap holder, and a unique serial number engraved on the back along with the SPECTRE film logo.
Completing the timepiece is an Omega Master Co-Axial calibre 8400, a revolutionary movement that is resistant to the magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, a free sprung balance with silicon balance spring, two barrels mounted in series, and automatic winding in both directions to reduce winding time. The watch power reserve is 60 hours.
