Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon
The ceramic OMEGA Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon represents one of the brand’s iconic designs with an innovative and adventurous spirit. The Apollo 8 astronauts were the first people to view the dark side of the moon with their own eyes. This timepiece pays homage to the Speedmaster chronographs that were worn by every Apollo astronaut.
A sleek, sporty, and edgy timepiece features a black zirconium oxide ceramic dial with an 18k white gold “Moonwatch” esque hands and two ceramic sub-dials found at 3 and 9 o’clock. Among the most identifiable design features of the Speedmaster is the matt chromium nitrite tachymeter scale which stands out on the polished ceramic bezel is set upon a 44.25mm brushed and polished ceramic case body. “Dark Side of the Moon” is engraved on the ceramic case back that is located just above the sapphire crystal. This engraving is a wonderful and appropriate tribute to the Speedmaster’s heritage, captivating design, and to the company’s adventurous spirit.
The see through case back holds the Omega Co-Axial calibre 9300 which is a self-winding chronograph movement with column wheel mechanism and Co-Axial Escapement for greater precision, stability, and durability of the movement. Silicon balance spring on free sprung balance, two barrels mounted in series, automatic winding in both directions to reduce winding time. Rhodium plated finish with exclusive Geneva waves in arabesque.
